Families,
I want to say thank you for a couple of things this week. First, thank you to all of you who helped with supporting our Certificated staff this week. It was so great to see our staff and families come together to help celebrate all the hard work they do! Secondly, thank you for those of you that were able to come to Family Lunch on Wednesday. Love seeing so many of our families! And, a very big thank you to our PTSA, who continues to hit it out of the park with their support of our students and staff. They are such an amazing crew! This week definitely reminded me why we are a Raider Family!
On a different note, this week, we start SBA testing. Please ensure that your student comes with a charged Chromebook and a book for testing days. Also, please ensure your student arrives on time so that they can maximize their time to take the SBA. Thank you!
Have a great weekend!

What is your role at Ridgetop?
- 8th Grade Science Teacher, Leadership Teacher, and ASB Advisor
What is your favorite TV show/movie and why?
- Disney's Wish - it just fills my heart and makes me happy :)
Do you have a favorite childhood memory?
- My best friend lived on a farm and had horses, sheep, cows and pigs. I used to love going to her house so I could help her do chores and play with all her animals!
What was your favorite subject when you were a student?
- My favorite subject in middle school and high school was history!
Tell us how you either LEARN, LEAD, or GROW in your life, in your personal life or as an educator.
- My family LOVES exploring new places! We spend time together LEARNING about National Parks and traveling to new ones each summer. This summer we are going to Everglades National Park so we can learn more about alligators, crocodiles, and manatees!

What is your role at Ridgetop?
- School Counselor
What is your favorite TV show/movie and why?
- The CHOSEN. A very true-life depiction of the life and ministry of Jesus - full of hope and guidance for a great life.
Do you have a favorite childhood memory?
- Throwing my brother off the roof of our house to see if the superman cape we put on him would really work. His broken collar bone was proof enough that it didn't.
What was your favorite subject when you were a student?
- Middle School Shop - back when we could cut, glue, weld, pour molten metal into things (don't ask), and make the stuff moms liked on Mother's Day - files, fishing lures, saws, and lamps. My mom was soooooo understanding.
Tell us how you either LEARN, LEAD, or GROW in your life, in your personal life or as an educator.
- Remembering we all matter. No one is a mistake. No one is here "randomly". Everyone needs to know and be reminded they have a purpose and a passion, and our journey is to discover this - over and over. Everyone needs to be known by others - lifted up, supported, and included with a healthy dose of HOPE. Anyone who tells you differently is lying.

FinalForms registration is now open for the 2026–27 school year! This includes all incoming 6th graders, current 6th and 7th graders, and our current 8th graders preparing for their freshman year.
Registration is required for all students who plan to participate in a club or sport next year. While FinalForms remains open year-round, students must be fully registered and cleared before participating in any activities.
We encourage families to complete registration as soon as possible, especially for students planning to participate in high school activities, which may begin as early as June 1.
For step-by-step instructions, please visit the “Sports & Athletic Registration” section on our website ( linked here), or navigate through the Ridgetop website.
Families will need to click on the blue button at the top of their student account that says "Click to Switch to 2026-27 Registration" to access registration for the 26-27 school year. HS student athletes must be registered for 26-27 athletics to participate in Summer athletics.
If you need support, please call the front office at (360)662-2900, or reach out to Kenzee Lauth (RMS Bookkeeper/ASB Secretary) at KenzeeL@ckschools.org.

Washington state law requires all students entering 7th grade to have a Tdap booster or an exemption form on file before the first day of school. Tdaps given on or after 10 years of age meet this requirement. If you need an appointment with a provider, schedule it now; wait times can be lengthy. If your student needs a sports physical, your provider may be able to give the Tdap booster at the same time. If you need help finding a provider, contact your school nurse or call the Kitsap Public Health District at 360-728-2235.

This year, every month we are going to have a specific character focus that we are working on as a school. Each week, we will be focusing on different aspects of being a professional student.
For the month of May we are focusing on excellence. Our message to students is that this month, with state testing, and getting towards the end of the semester, we are focusing on trying our best in everything we do. Not only are we focusing on academics, but also doing our best in our relationships with peers and staff, as well as following school expectations.

Ridgetop is in need of adult mentors. All it takes is 1 hour per week to make a difference in a student's life. The goal of the mentoring program is to develop positive relationships between schools and students, parents, and community. All mentors receive training on how to support students with goal setting, and peer relationships.
Mentoring takes place on school property. Mentors may play board games, draw, practice flashcards, read, discuss grades and study habits, or just spend time talking. If this sounds like something you can do, please get in contact with our building coordinator Jeff Kahler@ jeffreyk@ckschools.org. Adult mentors make a huge difference in a youth's life.
