I hope you had a great Spring Break. It was nice to get away for a bit, but I am excited to be back with our students and staff as we finish out the spring! Please check out the post below about some helpful reminders for both students and families as we get back into the swing of things. Have a great weekend!

Friendly Reminders As We Get Back From Break

Here are a few important reminders as we get back to school.

  • Please keep all electronics in your backpack when you enter school.
  • If you need a bus pass, please make sure to get it from your Advo teacher or the office on Thursdays.
  • If you are planning to attend a sports game, you cannot stay on campus after school till the start of the game. You need to leave campus and then return when the game starts. Please keep in mind that all school rules still apply at sport events.
  • Getting to class on time. It is so important that students are ready to learn each and every period, especially as we are heading down the stretch of the school year.

Local Author Visit 👩‍🏫

In partnership with Liberty Bay Books , we are excited to welcome author, Mary Boone to our school on April 27th. We are excited to hear her talk about the art of writing as well as about her books!

9th Grade Info Nights 🎓

It is that time of year where we start to look forward to the next school year. For our current 8th graders, it means thinking about high school.

Both of our respective high schools will have Info Nights. Please click on your respective school below to see more information.

Lost and Found Getting Cleared Out Soon! 👕

Our Lost and Found is getting really full again. We are planning to donate any left over items after April 16th. Thank you.

Purple Up Tuesdays!

April is Month of the Military Child! We want to celebrate our military connected students throughout the month. To show support and solidarity, we will wear purple each week on Purple Up Tuesdays! Purple is the color of the military child because it blends together the colors representing all branches of the US Armed Forces.

We will also be doing some fun lunch activities and invite military children to appear on the morning announcements throughout the month!

Kona Ice is Coming Back Next Month!

I know all of our students who prepaid for Kona Ice this past week couldn't get their treats. Below is the message I sent to families about how to either get a refund or use their prepayment for next month.

Families,

I am very sorry, but we were not able to get to all of our 6th grade students and some of the other grade level students who prepaid for Kona Ice today. After talking with the Kona Ice people, we have two options for students. They can wait till next month and get their Kona Ice then, OR you can connect with Kona Ice and get a refund. I have put their contact info below.

Regardless of which option you choose, please communicate with Kona Ice your choice so that way they can either get you on the list for next month or give you a refund.

Thank you and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

April Focus ☺️

This year, every month we are going to have a specific character focus that we are working on as a school. Each week, we will be focusing on different aspects of being a professional student.

For the month of April, we are focusing on Inclusion. We are working on helping students understand what it means to embrace differences and celebrate diversity.

Would you like to be an Adult Mentor for our students? 🙋🏼‍♂️

Ridgetop is in need of adult mentors. All it takes is 1 hour per week to make a difference in a student's life. The goal of the mentoring program is to develop positive relationships between schools and students, parents, and community.  All mentors receive training on how to support students with goal setting, and peer relationships.

Mentoring takes place on school property. Mentors may play board games, draw, practice flashcards, read, discuss grades and study habits, or just spend time talking. If this sounds like something you can do, please get in contact with our building coordinator Jeff Kahler@ jeffreyk@ckschools.org. Adult mentors make a huge difference in a youth's life.
