Families,
This week there has been a huge focus around getting ready for conferences. We are reintroducing a student led part to conferences this year. Students have been working on a document in their Advocacy helping them to reflect on the year so far, their classes, and their grades. We are asking that students join their parents at conferences and to bring their charged Chromebook with them. When you come to conferences, you will spend some time with your student in the library while they go through the Student Led document with you.
Speaking of conferences, we are looking forward to welcoming you all into the building next week for this event. More info on conferences and the link to sign up for a time slot are below. We look forward to seeing you there.
For now, have a great weekend, and GO M's!!!

Each week we will feature two staff members at Ridgetop so that families get to know OUR Raider family better. |
What is your role at Ridgetop? - I am a paraeducator and I have the honor of working one to one with students, along with other students inside and outside of our classrooms.
What is your favorite thing about working at Ridgetop? - My favorite thing about working at Ridgetop is ALL the things I get the opportunity to do with our students. Hanging out with our morning "Door Holders" is a GREAT way to start my day. Helping kids learn and connecting with them on a daily basis. Even a simple greeting in the hallway can make a HUGE difference in someone's life. Every moment matters.
What do you like to do for fun outside of school? - I love yard sales/thrift stores/crafting, and I am ALWAYS up for a snow day! Simply hanging out with my hubby and our 10 year old boy/girl twins means so very much to me.
If you could pick any superpower, what would it be and why? - I would love to be able to fly. Why? Because I could see things from another perspective other than on land. Plus, my son wants to fly with our chickens, so I could carry them on my back.
Tell us how you either LEARN, LEAD, or GROW in your life, in your personal life or as an educator. - As an educator, I learn from students. Kids teach me patience and tolerance on the daily. I think there is something very human and familiar to all of us for wanting to belong and to feel cared for and accepted. |

What is your role at Ridgetop? - Student Assistance Professional
What is your favorite thing about working at Ridgetop? - I love the culture here at Ridgetop, everyone has been welcoming and very kind.
What do you like to do for fun outside of school? - I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family. Hiking, biking, and kayaking are some of my favorite activities.
If you could pick any super power, what would it be and why? - I would pick flying as my superpower to make traveling easier and more affordable.
Tell us how you either LEARN, LEAD, or GROW in your life, in your personal life or as an educator. - In my personal and professional life, I enjoy helping others grow and being a role model. Professionally, it is rewarding to see students make positive changes in their lives by setting goals and learning healthy coping strategies. In my personal life, I enjoy coaching soccer as it is a great way to give back to the community. |

We are excited to welcome families into Ridgetop for Fall Conferences in a few weeks. Below are the details of the conference times.
Dates and Times: - 10/22: 4 - 7:30pm
- 10/23: 11:00am - 2:30pm AND 3:30pm - 7:00pm
We will be doing what is called an "arena style" conference. You will have the opportunity to go around to your student's teachers for a brief conversation on how things are going in the class and to ask any questions. Below you will see where each grade level will be stationed around the building.
- 7th and 8th Grade: Upper Gym
- 6th Grade: Cafeteria
- Electives: Hallway by Library
Before you go and talk with teachers, your student will present to you their part of what they have created for conferences. This student led piece will give you an opportunity to hear from your child about how they are doing in school and how they are feeling about school in general. For this part, we want our students to bring their Chromebook with them to conferences as they will have to access this document on their Chromebook.
Lastly, we are asking that families that are planning to attend to please reserve their date and time slot. A separate message to sign up for a date and time slot will be coming out shortly. |
We've got a lot of "stuff" in our Lost and Found area. Take a look at this video to see if you see anything that may belong to your student.
FYI, we will be donating what is leftover after conferences. |
Our amazing PTSA will be feeding our staff during conferences. We are SO appreciative of this and thank you in advance to all of our families that help with this. |

Ridgetop is in need of adult mentors. All it takes is 1 hour per week to make a difference in a student's life. The goal of the mentoring program is to develop positive relationships between schools and students, parents, and community. All mentors receive training on how to support students with goal setting, and peer relationships.
Mentoring takes place on school property. Mentors may play board games, draw, practice flashcards, read, discuss grades and study habits, or just spend time talking. If this sounds like something you can do, please get in contact with our building coordinator Jeff Kahler@ jeffreyk@ckschools.org. Adult mentors make a huge difference in a youth's life. |
