Raider Families,
I first want to recognize that this week's Kona Ice days didn't go as planned. I want to apologize to all that were not able to get their pre orders fulfilled and to those who had hoped to use cash/card to pay. I know there were a lot of frustrated students and parents, and I sincerely apologize that this was not a great experience. We will work on making it smoother for the next time they come here. Please see below if you were not able to get your pre order filled.
I want to call a couple of other things to your attention as we end the week. Please note that 10/14 is picture retake day. This is our only retake day that we will be offering for students. Secondly, we have had a lot of students riding their bikes to school this year. We love to see that, and we also want to ensure our students are being safe. Please take a look at the post below for a few more reminders about bike safety.
Lastly, just a friendly reminder that Monday is a NON STUDENT DAY. Please enjoy the 3 day weekend!

We had a lot of students purchase Kona Ice over the last couple of days. Unfortunately, we were not able to get through all of the students who pre ordered. If you had a student that this happened to, one, we are very sorry we couldn't get to them. Secondly, I explained to students that we have two options for them. Their prepayment can rollover into next month when Kona Ice comes back OR if you would like a refund you can email them at cnovick@kona-ice.com to request one.
Thank you and we apologize if your student was unable to get one on this go around.

We have been having a lot of students ride their bikes to school this year. That is great to see. We also want to ensure our students are being safe while riding their bike to and from Ridgetop. Please remember the following:
- Students should lock their bike up once they get to school.
- Students should NOT be riding their bike on school property before school, during school, and while after school activities are going on.
- If students are riding their bikes on Hillsboro Dr NW, please be mindful of cars that are on the street as well. We have had a handful of reports of students with e-bikes speeding in this road.

Do you have a family member who is currently serving in the military or who is a military veteran? We would love to invite them to participate in our Veteran's Day Assembly on Nov. 6th @ 7:30am.
We are looking for 3–4 active-duty service members or veterans who would be willing to spend a few minutes sharing with our middle school students about their experiences. Speakers might share a life lesson they learned through military service, why they chose to join, a meaningful experience, or the impact the military has had on their life.
The total speaking time will be approximately 15 minutes, with each speaker having just a few minutes to share.
If you or someone in your family would be interested in participating, please reach out to the school at Maggie Lacie ( maggielac@ckschools.org) by Friday, October 16.
Thank you for helping us give our students the opportunity to learn from members of our community who have served!

Our Lost and Found area is starting to get a lot of items. We are planning to do one more big push for students to get their items during conferences. The week after that we plan to donate what we have. Thank you.

We absolutely love when our students come out to support their fellow Raiders at a sporting event. Here are a few reminders for students to ensure that we all can enjoy cheering on our sports teams.
- ALL school rules apply when you are attending a sports event.
- If you are attending a sports event, you CANNOT stay on campus to wait for the start of that event. Most of our events start at 3:30pm. You need to leave campus and then come back at 3:30 to watch an event.
- Let's be Respectful Raiders! That means we aren't booing other teams or players. We are using respectful language and we are treating others around us with respect also.

As we continue settling into our school routines, we appreciate your help in making sure students come to school each day prepared with everything they may need: lunches, athletic gear, instruments, Chromebooks, and other school items.
We know that occasionally something gets forgotten (it happens to all of us!), but when possible, having everything ready before students arrive helps minimize interruptions to classrooms and keeps students focused on learning throughout the day.
Secondly, now that students have started to get into the routine of school, we are going to be tracking tardies to class. Please keep in mind that as tardies build, we have integrated consequences for every 3rd tardy. Please refer to the Student Handbook below.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Raiders be prepared and ready for a great day!

All families are encouraged to complete a Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefits (CNEEB) Form at the beginning of each school year. This form will help qualify your student(s) for Free or Reduced Price Meals, reduction of school fees and SUNbucks Summer EBT benefits. Completion of a CNEEB form also helps your child's school qualify for other benefits.
The federal government sets eligibility guidelines based on household income and size.

Washington state law requires all students entering 7th grade to have a Tdap booster or an exemption form on file before the first day of school. Tdaps given on or after 10 years of age meet this requirement. If you need an appointment with a provider, schedule it now; wait times can be lengthy. If your student needs a sports physical, your provider may be able to give the Tdap booster at the same time. If you need help finding a provider, contact your school nurse or call the Kitsap Public Health District at 360-728-2235.
